”Catalina Patrol – The PBY Catalina flying boat – better known as the “Cat” was one of the truly great aircraft designs. Introduced in 1935 as a long-range patrol aircraft, it was already becoming obsolete when America entered World War Two in December 1941. But, easy to manufacture in large numbers, the “Cat” continued in production and excelled in almost every theatre of war.
